Priyadarshini Singh the wannabe starlet who tried her level best to hook Rahul Mahajan in Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayega told one of her friends in Mumbai “Publicity ke liye kuch bhi karaga” before she left for Argentina for the shoot of the Endemol India-produced show on Imagine – Wiipe Out. And sure enough her lived up to her words. She slapped none other than Raja Chaudhary who has got a reputation for beating be it his ex-wife or girl friend. Apparently, when Priyadarshini Singh realised that Raja Chaudhary was drunk at the airport and was behaving erratically, she seized upon the opportunity to get into a confrontation with the hot-headed Bhojpuri actor and producer. She began to prod him and answer back to all that a fully drunk Raja had to say. “She was trying hard to confront Raja and pick up a fight with him. According to a member of the group who is also participating in the same show and who was an eye witness to the incident, Priyadarshini didn’t everything possible to irritate Raja Chaudhary. Initially Raja ignored her and went on with his generic ranting about the other passengers around them who were starring at the group. Raja was particularly irritated with the stares he was getting from the fellow passengers in the waiting area of the airport and was generally cursing them under his breath.

Priyadarshini Singh – herself on the lookout for an opportunity to hit the headlines once again – accosted Raja as though the other passengers were her brothers and sisters. Raja in turn let her have some of the choicest Bambaiya ‘gallies’ in three languages – Hindi, English and Bhojpuri.

This infuriated Priyadarshani Singh who hit back at Raja with equal vengeance anger. But when Raja wouldn’t stop his tirade of expletives, she slapped him real hard, say eye-witnesses at the airport. According to our sources the incident took place at the airport between 3.30 am and 4 am. Priyadarshani even walked up to the CISF personnel on duty at the airport in an obvious attempt to file a complaint against Raja. Like most wannabes and unknown starlets seeking their 11 seconds of fame on the boob tube, she wouldn’t want to let go of an opportunity to hit the headlines on every news channel by filing a police complaint against her tormentor.

Raja Chaudhary was saved when Endemol India officials accompanying the participants intervened and broke up the fight. They had a tough time convincing Priyadarshini Singh not to talk to the police, but a veiled threat of disqualification from the show did the trick and Raja was saved by the skin of his neck.

Yana Gupta turns down Rs One Crore offer to pose nude

Yana Gupta who has sort-off gone underground refusing to further comment on her wardrobe malfunction or speak to journalists and give interviews on the issue has also turned down a big offer to pose nude for a British men’s magazine. While no official confirmation was available and Yana Gupta or her managers refused to comment on this issue on record, it seems that Yana seems to be in no mood to at least immediately accept the offer. A source said, “Yana has shown no interest in the offer and neither she or her managers responded to queries or emails regarding the same.”

Bigg Boss 4: WWE champ Khali a guest for a few days in Bigg Boss house

The WWE champion, also known as The Great Khali who entered the Bigg Boss 4 house (Reality Show aired on Colours) amidst much fanfare and media hype may not stay in the Bigg Boss house for very long. According to our sources, Khali has been brought in as a wild card entry to combat the negativity and criticism centered around the show due to the presence of two Pakistani citizens. Khali’s stay is for a limited period and he may leave the house (on some pretext or the other) in about a week to ten days, we were told. Bigg Boss may or may not mention the fact that Khali is just a temporary guest at the time of his exit. Instead, a situation may be created wherein Khali has to leave the house, making it sound like a normal exit due to personal reasons.

Meanwhile, the WWE champ, Khali entered the Bigg Boss 4 house on Saturday. He was provided with a special break fast by the Bigg Boss, which included extra milk and 20 pieces of eggs.

The champ entered the house with great pomp. Rahul Bhatt a great fan of the WWE champ couldn't believe his eyes after seeing The Great Khali. While the other inmates were horrified with the huge mans entry, Rahul was more than happy to see his idol in front of him.

Rahul introduced him to all the members of the house and helped him to get familiar with the environment. Rahul seemed to know everything about Mahabali Khali. Khali was also impressed with Rahul's fitness and complimented him for it. Rahul also got a chance to exercise with his idol.

Khali was a sub-inspector in Punjab and later on became a superstar in the world of WWE. He has however not forgotten his humble roots and is down-to-earth and very modest.

Meanwhile, Khali is having all kinds of problems adjusting to the difficulties inside the house. One major problem that he faced was with the gym equipment inside the house. Apparently, the equipment inside the Bigg Boss house was just not what he was used to. So, when Salman Khan, the host of the show, learnt about his plight, he immediately ordered his personal gym equipment which was at at his farmhouse to be shifted there.

Well Bigg Boss has several cameras inside the Bigg Boss house. But we have our secret spy cams too.... and what did we see in our secret camera feed this morning. The great Khali is being fed separately in the confession room. He is also provided with protein shakes, protein supplements and loads of other goodies like chicken, eggs, milk etc to meet his dietary requirements. According to our special Bigg Boss correspondent, embedded right inside the Bigg Boss house, Khali is fed a couple of times a day and that footage is either not available or the cameras are switched off or the footage if available is not aired.

Our sources also tell us that Khali has a special contract with Bigg Boss which permits him to come out of the house secretly and even exercise or do medical checkups to ensure his body is fighting fit.

We had earlier reported that WWE champion, also known as The Great Khali who entered the Bigg Boss 4 house (Reality Show aired on Colours) amidst much fanfare and media hype is being paid about Rs 40 lakh per week or approximately Rs 5 lakh each day he stays in the Bigg Boss house, making him the highest paid Bigg Boss inmate till date in the history of the popular TV Reality Show in India. While Colours or Endemol would not officially confirm these figures, sources within the channel said that Khali was making close to Rs 40 to Rs 50 lakh per week. He was given a down payment of Rs 50 lakh which is over and over the weekly payment.

Participants or inmates are normally paid an upfront amount or a signing amount and then they are paid additionally per week they survive in the Bigg Boss house. The signing amount ranges from Rs 2 to Rs 25 lakh depending on the popularity and market rate of the individual. The weekly payment ranges from Rs one lakh to Rs 3 lakh per week, say sources and can go up to Rs 5 lakh per week for certain individuals like Manoj Tiwari or Shweta Tiwari.

What’s gone wrong with my favourite TV Channel Colours and my favourite TV show Bigg Boss this season, asked 21-year-old racing enthusiast Ravi Shetty. Like Ravi, thousands of Indians are asking probably the same question. While Salman Khan, aka Chulbul Pandey has done his best, something definitely seems to be lacking in Bigg Boss 4, reveal results of a snap telephonic poll conducted by content syndication firm Futuristic Media Network. Most Indians polled said they preferred the Big B and the inmates in Bigg Boss 3 as compared to the inmates this season. The poll was conducted by asking about 5000 random youth across the country for their feedback.

Says Editor of Futuristic Media Network and media analyst, Flynn Remedios, “After watching Big B, Amitabh Bachchan’s charismatic and dignified role as host of Bigg Boss 3, most Indians were expecting much much more in Bigg Boss 4. The expectation levels were further fuelled by the PR Blitz unleashed by the channel Colours in the days preceding the show. There were reports of Rajesh Khanna, Pamela Anderson, Shiney Ahuja, Neetu Chandra and several other big names as inmates of the house. However, what actually happened turned out to be much less than expected. We were left with a motley bunch of chors, dakus and a psycho who used filthy, abusive language on the first day in the house and had to be thrown out.”

“Last year, international model Claudia Ciesla (co-incidentally introduced to Bigg Boss 3 by Flynn Remedios) brought in the phirang and oomph element as well as added to the entertainment factor with her sometimes quixotic attempts at speaking and learning Hindi. Then there were stalwarts like comedian Raju Srivastava, Poonam Dhillon and Vindu Dara Singh who had a great fan-base and fan following both in rural and urban India. Sometimes I feel Salman Khan though brilliant, lacks the charisma and global appeal that the Big B brought to the previous season.”

Salman Khan is a super star, Big B is an enigma. His voice as host, during the last season was enough to send a shiver down most spines and inspire awe and admiration, while Sallu bhai’s voice though entertaining and funny is not awe inspiring. While Salman can definitely do really well in a movie like Dabaang or Wanted, Bigg Boss is not a movie. Reality TV on the small screen is very different from a cinemascope presentation. Besides Big B had a great fan following among the older audiences as well, opines Flynn Remedios, analysing the results of the poll.

Now that cross dresser Saleem Ali, also known as Begum Nawazish Ali is out of the Bigg Boss house, our in-house Astrologer, Tarot Reader, Feng-Shui expert, Numerologist and clairvoyant-par-excellence Flintoff Mintoff has predicted that Veena Malik will be the next inmate to be evicted out of the Bigg Boss House.

For some reason, if there is no nomination or eviction this week or by some twist of fate, if Pakistani actress Veena Malik survives one more week, she is definitely going to be evicted the following week, pontificated Mintoff.

As reported earlier, according to a very senior official from the very-popular GEC Colours, the two Pakistani inmates Veena Mallik and Begum Nawazish Ali are likely to be eased out of the Bigg Boss, Season 4 house in the next 2-3 weeks. This is part of a top-secret pact worked out between Colours channel and the Shiv Sena leadership in Mumbai.

According to our reliable and confidential sources within the channel, the GEC Colours has assured the top Shiv Sena leadership that they didn’t mean any harm or were not being unpatriotic in any way. Instead they wanted to create hype and buzz nationwide about the coming season of Bigg Boss 4, including the non-Hindi speaking belt in the south. This was only possible with some ingenious controversy which would give them the required media space in regional and national news papers. So the two Pakistani citizens were roped in. When the Shiv Sena blocked out the channel Colours in Mumbai, using its muscle power with its own distributors and cable operators affiliated to unions controlled by the Shiv Sena, pressure from advertisers like Vodafone, etc., forced Colours to come to the negotiating table. Since the Shiv Sena would not accept anything short of throwing out the Pakistanis, the channel asked the Sena bosses for some time to do it the natural way and hence save face and possible litigation and compensation complaints from the ousted participants.

Accordingly it was secretly agreed between the Sena top bosses and Colours that the Pakistanis would be eased out in the next two weeks. After an assurance was given by the Channel to this effect, the agitation was called off and the block was lifted.

The Bigg Boss creative team will modify the script, change the rules of the game without appearing to do so, or find creative and natural-like means to evict both the Pakistani citizens, so that it looks like they were evicted through a fair and normal voting process. The trick would be to nominate Veena Malik along with two strong Indian inmates. The two Indian inmates like Shweta Tiwari or Manoj Tiwari or Ashmit Patel, etc will have a strong fan-following ensuring that they get enough votes through the SMS voting system to save them from eviction, leaving the lone Pakistani inmate to get kicked out.

Well, well we didn’t say this. This is not our opinion or theory. We are not alleging that spot fixing or outcome fixing or whatever happens in Bigg Boss or any other Reality Shows. We know that such reality shows are audited by international consulting firms and adhere to the strictest norms of impartiality. Playboy photographer offers actress Neeshaa Singh Rs 3-crore for nude photo shoot

Hold your breath guys. South siren, actress Neeeshaa Singh has just been offered a whooping Rs 3-crore by an Australian photographer - who claims he is affiliated with the international adult men’s magazine Playboy – for a nude photo shoot. According to actress Neeshaa Singh’s publicist and manager, Flynn Remedios, the photographer Clement Andrew Martins contacted Neeshaa Singh via Facebook, claiming that he was an international photographer and on special assignments and glamour and hi-fashion shoots for several sophisticated men’s magazines including GQ International, Playboy and also publications like People, Newsweek and USA Today. He said he would be interested in working with Neeshaa Singh for an international men’s magazine.

“We were of course intrigued and asked him to email us more details. He wrote back saying the shoot he was talking about would be for Playboy and would be shot in Europe over a span of one week. He also claimed that his agency would be willing to pay the equivalent of Rs 3-crore for a full-frontal nude shoot for the centrespread plus all expenses and travel and stay,” informs Remedios.

We first thought it was a joke and some friend or acquaintance was pulling a prank on us, says Remedios. However, when we asked him for his contact details, specifying that he should give us his website address and his landline telephone number, to our amazement, he did provide us with the details he asked for and the same turned out to be correct. A woman answered our calls and claimed that the number belonged to Martins. Other details provided also seemed to work out right.

Meanwhile the sexy Neeshaa Singh has not yet decided if she is doing the shoot or not. “We are still verifying if the entire thing is a hoax and will decide about the shoot only after that,” explained Remedios.

CITIZENS ACTION FORUM APPOINTS RITUU SACHDEV AS SPOKESPERSON FOR ITS CLEAN-N-GREEN MUMBAI CAMPAIGN

Mumbai, Saturday 11 September 2010: The Citizens Action Forum (CAF) - a social service forum (NGO application pending) has announced a special activity campaign to spread awareness about the need for a clean-n-green Mumbai during the festive season beginning with the Ganesh Chaturti festival. The campaign will continue for three months and cover four major festivals in Maharashtra including Ganesh Chaturti, Navratri, Dussera and Diwali. The objective of this campaign is to make the general public aware of the dangers and harmful effects of noise, water, air and food pollution on the environment in general, which to an extent increases during the festive season.

The Citizens Action Forum has appointed model and actress Rituu Sachdev as their spokesperson and face of the campaign. The campaign will include activity like street plays, rallies, road shows, screening of documentary films and other mass media activity. Rituu Sachdev has completed two films in the south (one in Tamil and another in Kannada) of which the Kannada film Srimoksha released to a good response in June this year. She has done several print and television advertisement campaigns and is a known face on the modeling circuit. Rituu has also featured in the Venus Music-released music videos Rahbar and Chahat sung by Alka Yagnik. She has signed on a couple of other film projects including a popular Reality Show on a mainline entertainment channel.

Says Rituu Sachdev, “While we all enjoy celebrating festivals like Ganesh Chaturti and Diwali, certain environmental factors that affect our climate cannot be ignored. For example paints used in making statues could contain harmful arsenic, mercury and lead. The statues are at times made of non-bio-degradable material including plastic, which when immersed into water (sea, lakes, ponds and rivers) does not bio-degrade but stays in the ecosystem and harms the environment. Noise pollution during festivals is dangerous for senior citizens and even children. Excessive use of crackers and fireworks also adds to air pollution.”

Several celebrities, actors, sportspersons, professionals and other prominent citizens are expected to join the activities planned as part of the campaign.

While most other Indian item girls and models develop cold feet and back out - after they have got the first round of publicity by claiming that they were approached by Playboy magazine or some other “non-existant” representative or photograher whose ‘name they can’t remember’ – our very own Shradha Sharma is sticking to her guns. After a report first appeared that Shradha Sharma has been approached to pose for the Asian edition of Playboy, the spunky girl has stuck to her guns. Unlike the others who eventually back off and say they won’t pose nude keeping in mind Indian tradtions, customs, blah blah blah, Shradha has the guts to say she ‘really wants to do it’.

Just back from a film shoot in Malaysia, in an interview to TV channel News24 and E24, Shradha Sharma asserted, “I have no problems shooting for Playboy. It is an international magazine and the shoot will give me a lot of international exposure. Many well-known Hollywood actresses, super models, singers, sports women and even women in politics have posed for the magazine. Playboy ke liye kuch bhi karega,” she added jokingly.

When asked how will it affect her career in India, as India is still a conservative country when it comes to Playboy and the magazine is officially banned in India, Shradha says, “As such Playboy magazine is not available in India, so the question of offending Indian sentiments doesn’t arise.

Most Playboy models are paid about $ 50,000 or about Rs 2.3 lakh per shoot while the Playmate of the Year gets about Rs 60 to Rs 75 lakh for the Annual Special.We wonder how much Shradha Sharma would be paid for this shoot? Her manager Flynn Remedios refused to give any details about the payment but confirmed that the shoot is on. The high-voltage shoot is likely to happen somewhere abroad on an outdoor location but neither her manager, nor Shradha Sharma would reveal the details of the location of the shoot.

Shradha Sharma is in all probability all set to join the select group of the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Kim Basinger, Janet Jones, Drew Barrymore, Amanda Beard, Samantha Fox and the more recent alleged mistress of Tiger Woods – Rachel Uchitel in adorning the covers and centre spread of Playboy magazine. IPL and Lalit Modi: Why Lalit Modi must not be arbitrarily made to quit, resign or step down as IPL Commissioner?

Will someone please tell BCCI President Shashank Manohar and his top brass coterie at the BCCI that asking Lalit Modi to arbitrarily quit, step down or resign without following procedure will cause the BCCI more harm than good. It will show the world that the BCCI is an immature, driven by media hype body run by persons whose emotions and hearts rule their mind. If the BCCI President has adequate data to implicate Modi, they must immediately show cause him and give him a time, date and venue to remain present in person or through his pleader to defend himself. If they have adequate proof of criminal wrongdoing, they must file a criminal complaint or and FIR against Modi. But none of them will dare do that. They all want a mid-way compromise formula.

We live in India this great democracy where the judicial system still works. We pride in our pillars of democracy. We pride in our free press. We pride in the fact that even a poor man “can” get justice in India. No man is guilty unless proven guilty. Even if ten guilty people get away free, not a single innocent man should be punished are the ideals on which our legal system functions.

We must give Lalit Modi a chance to defend himself. He must get a chance to prepare his defense and answer all the allegations made against him. Unlike Shashi Tharoor, Lalit Modi is not a public servant or government servant. He was running a purely commercial establishment outfit geared to make maximum profits at all costs.

Lalit Modi’s only guilt as of now is his indiscretion in giving out details on Twitter. As IPL Commissioner, Lalit Modi should not have selectively given out the share holding pattern of one franchise on Twitter. He should have exercised discretion and prudence in this matter. He should not have let emotions get the better of him and his mental faculties. As far as all the wild allegations of match fixing, fraud, forgery, betting, money laundering, embezzlement, etc are concerned they are all just allegations. They need to be proven in a court of law by means of a fair trial. Lalit Modi must have an opportunity to speak up.

In that sense, Lalit Modi’s plea for a few days to prepare his defense is fully justified. The BCCI should show that it is a purely professional body and does not go by mere wild allegations appearing in the media. Even Saddam Hussain got an opportunity to face trial. The BCCI should first show cause Lalit Modi or conduct an open enquiry into all the allegations, but asking him to step down or quit without any opportunity to be heard is surely unfair.

In our judicial system, even murderers and rapists get several months to prepare their defense and then face trial. They get various opportunities to defend themselves through Revision Applications and Appeals. Why shouldn’t Lalit Modi be given a chance to speak up? Weren’t the BCCI bigwigs aware of what was going on.

In that sense BCCI President Shashant Manohar must accept responsibility and also step down owing moral responsibility for all the mess. To say that Shashank Manohar and others were not really aware of what is going on within the IPL is sheer stupidity. They were all probably in the know of what was going on. They just turned a blind eye.

If even if one per cent of the allegations against Lalit Modi are true, Lalit Modi could not have run the show with the active support of several BCCI and several others. To make Lalit Modi the fall guy would be hara kiri for the BCCI, because many of them would be signing their death warrants. A bitter and revengeful Lalit Modi is sure to hit out with the vengeance of a tornado. In that sense Shashank Manohar seems to be immature and wearing kid gloves. If he wants to save the good name of the BCCI and whatever equity is left of the IPL, he must follow the process of law. He must give Lalit Modi the time he wants – a few days will not harm anyone. The BCCI is considered as “state” in law and there is a standard procedure set out for such situations. The procedure must be followed. Asking Lalit Modi to arbitrarily quit may lay off the media pressure for a few days. But in the long run it will only harm the BCCI, IPL and cricket in India at large, because more harm will befall the BCCI.

Lalit Modi must get a fair trial. Lalit Modi must get justice. And justice must be seen to be done. We cannot get carried away by media hype. The BCCI must not let emotions rule it, but it should be governed by the rule of law. This entire scam was a result of non confirmation to SOP or standard operating procedure. The BCCI should in its rules have banned the use of public forums like Twitter for employees and officials to vent their spleen. The BCCI should have show caused Lalit Modi when he first tweeted and sent him an official memo or notice asking him to show cause why he should not be sacked for flouting the rule book.

Says Flynn Remedios, “For the last two weeks the media has gone to town and most news channels have dedicated almost or more than 60 per cent of their news telecast time to the IPL controversy or IPL gate. A lot of incorrect information or data is coming out in the media. The real controversy lies buried six feet under. There is much much more to IPLgate than meets the eye. Many more big names are involved. There is the match fixing and betting rackets and some prominent names will definitely come out. My books will reveal much more than what is being seen right now. It is learnt from unconfirmed sources that the BCCI has given in to Lalit Modi’s threats and carrot and stick method. All senior BCCI officials are aware that while Lalit Modi may or may not be guilty of wrong doing and other allegations leveled against him, he has loads of information and data which could be used to rock many a boat in the BCCI.

Lalit Modi’s internal and secret information could even rock the government. Two to three Union Ministers are already in trouble and many more skeletons may come out of the closet if the BCCI takes on Lalit Modi head on.

This fact was impressed upon Shashank Manohar by Sharad Pawar who has been brokering peace between the warring parties who offered a mid-way for both the parties.

Sharad Pawar’s formula means that Lalit Modi will attend the governing council meeting on 26th and step down on his own. In return the BCCI will allow Lalit Modi to continue as Vice President and not SACK HIM. The IPL Commissioner’s post may be re-constituted and re-engineered with someone like Ravi Shastri taking over with much reduced powers.

According to the latest news sources, Lalit Modi has agreed to step down as IPL Commissioner. Sharad Pawar who has been trying to broker peace between the BCCI and Lalit Mod has worked out a compromise deal between the Lalit Modi and Shashank Manohar.

Apparently Lalit Modi has agreed to step down after the finals on 25th April or latest 26th April. This development happened after Sharad Pawar got BCCI President Shashank Manohar to speak to Lalit Modi on Friday night. According to sources, the two hadn’t spoken to each other for the last ten days and haven’t met face to face for the last 12 days.

A compromise formula has been worked out. Shashank Manohar told Lalit Modi he has to resign or step down. According to Manohar, all the government agencies – the IT dept, the DRI, the CBDT and including the CBI has been knocking on the BCCI doors and the BCCI is under investigation from all fronts. Also the ruckus in parliament, the demand for a joint parliamentary probe by the opposition, the inclusion of other political names were sparked off after Lalit Modi’s spat with Shashi Tharoor and his arbitrary and uncalled for tweets on Twitter.

Lalit Modi who was buying for time and pleading for a few days to prepare his defense lost his footing when his only supporter Sharad Pawar told him in no uncertain terms that he must go.

Purple Fire Films announces mobile movies, music videos for cell phones

With the fast-growing mobile phone market in India, Purple Fire Films has announced special content products for mobile phone users including films and music videos specially purposed and customized for mobile phone viewing. According to Flynn Remedios, Executive Producer for Purple Fire Films, the Mumbai-based production house has planned to produce over 50 music videos and about 10 films for the mobile market during 2010 itself. Company sources said that the films will be of 30 to 50 minute duration, while the remix and original music videos would range from 4 to 6 minutes each. “We have done extensive research on the subject. Mobile content users or viewers have an attention span of not more than 5 to 20 minutes at a stretch. Our products will keep in mind this factor,” said Remedios.

“In addition to mobile films and music videos, we will produce music videos and films completely shot with high-end mobile phones from start to finish. The first-cut or rough edit of our first mobile remix music video starring Tamil actress Neelakshi Singh has been released on You Tube. This is just a test case and is based on remix editions of three popular Bollywood numbers. Two more such mobile music videos are in the pipeline and will be released in April 2010. The salient feature of this product is that it has been wholly shot with a high-end mobile phone,” explained Flynn Remedios.

The company also plans to produce “A-rated” mobile music videos and films for a mature audience and the international market. Says Remedios, “If Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms known for its family soaps and saas-bahu content can start producing spicy adult fare like Love, Sex and Dhokha, Purple Fire Films sees a tremendous market for such similar content specially produced for mobile phone viewing.”

Sources elaborated that Purple Fire Films is hedging its bets on the mobile content market and is expecting a distribution and marketing tie-up with a big Indian player in the coming weeks. “We are talking to several content providers for a distribution and marketing tie-up for our products and hope to make an announcement soon,” said Remedios, refusing to mention any numbers or names.

The company plans to generate revenue through in-film and in-video subtle adverts and logo placements, say sources. Download costs or charges would be kept to the minimum to encourage even low ARPU users to download and use these products.

Mumbai-based model and actress Natasha Sikka has filed a complaint with the Mumbai cyber crime cell against a former friend who has allegedly been sending out false and defamatory emails to various professional acquaintances of the model.

According to Flynn Remedios, publicist and spokesperson for Natasha Sikka, "the model was briefly engaged about two years ago to a Delhite. When she called off the engagement on grounds of cruelty and harassment, her incensed former boyfriend started sending out false and defamatory emails to her professional contacts like photographers and web portals. The accused person also put up a vulgar and indecent blog about the model claiming falsely that she is being investigated for fraud. His emails threaten legal action for copy right infringement claiming to be sent from a law firm head quartered in England, under the false email identity of Yogendra Pratap Singh." The police are trying to track down the IP address and location of the sender who has been going about this scandalous deed with great impunity.

Natasha Sikka has informed the Mumbai Cyber Crime cell which is trying to track down the sender. In this film, the badly wounded Rani Laxmibai escapes from the battle of Gwalior thanks to some quick thinking by her handmaid (played by Anaya Das). A captian in the British army Captian Rheese has documented the Rani’s escape stating that “no corpse was found”. In this film, the badly-wounded Rani lives much longer in hiding mourning the brutal hanging of her father Moropant Tambey after the British captured Jhansi. For the first time in the history of Indian cinema, the Kolkatta-born, US-returned Neelakshi Singh will be chased by five helicopters in a Tamil movie as she attempts to flee with her hero and escape her father's wrath. Supposedly, the most expensive Tamil movie ever made, the film is tentatively titled "Runaway Love" and will also be dubbed
in English and Hindi.

While the producer or director were not willing to reveal any further details about the project, the film's publicist Flynn Remedios said that the project will definitely qualify for an entry in the Limca Book of Records if not the Guinness Book. "Five helicopters, 15 cars and an equal number of motorbikes will be used for a particular chase scene in the movie. There will be a lot of computer generated special effects and other devil-may-dare stunts," revealed Flynn Remedios.

NRI Tamilian businessman-turned-producer Ranjan Nair's newly launched production house Whistling Palms Films has tied up with a local Tamil film company to produce the film, informed our sources. A major robbery took place at the office of Bollywood publicist, free lance journalist, scriptwriter and film director Flynn Remedios’ office in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. His video editor has been named as the main accused by the police.

According to a complaint filed by Flynn Remedios at the Versova police station on 9th December, he was working on some music video project and had hired the services of a free lance video editor Alok Singh to help him in the editing of the music video. The duo was working late night in the studio when Flynn Remedios decided to take a short nap. When he woke up after about 1.5 hours he found that two laptops, about 18 very expensive mobile phones, 5 pocket hard disks of varying capacities, his hand bag containing cash about Rs 40,000/- and various other belongings were missing including his wrist watch which he had left on the editing table. The video editor Alok Singh was not to be seen and the room had been literally wiped clean, except for the heavy desktop AVID and FCP machines.

He immediately called the police control room and a mobile police van reached the spot in about ten minutes. The Versova police have registered an FIR (FIR No 359/09) u/s 381 for theft and have named the absconding video editor Alok Singh as the main accused in the crime. The total value of the stolen physical goods is about Rs 5 lakh, but the value of the data and the freshly shot video footage would run into several lakh rupees, said Flynn Remedios, adding, “I trusted the man completely. Every day I would order his favorite biryani for dinner from a nearby restaurant. Even on Tuesday night, we had our dinner and I told him that I was going to sleep for an hour. I even told him to wake me up in short while as we had a shoot the next morning and had a call time of 7 am. He has stolen my hard disks and about ten pen drives which had video footage worth several lakh rupees. I was working on two music videos and one film which I had directed. All the partly edited footage was stored on the portable hard disks. He should have at least left behind the hard disks which he knew had all the data.”

Popular supermodel Claudia Ciesla gets Channel Colours a few million new viewers from Europe.

When Endemol India and the channel Colours decided to sign on German supermodel Claudia Ciesla for the third season of their very popular show Bigg Boss, maybe they didn’t realise that Claudia – who is a very popular ramp and fashion model in Germany and the rest of Europe – would become some sort of a brand ambassadress for Indian Television.

Knowingly or unknowingly, Colours as a brand has ensured that its reach has spread to Europe and Germany for sure. Says Claudia Ciesla’s manager in Germany Gergor Kaden, “A lot of people in Germany have begun watching the channel Colours thanks to Claudia as she is very popular as a model, singer and fashionista out here. While the channel would have otherwise been an unknown entity among the common man in places like France, Germany, Italy, Poland, etc., Claudia’s presence and persistence in Bigg Boss has sparked off a flurry of media activity.” In the last six months, there must have been about 2-3 articles on Indian television, but the last two months has seen about 8-10 stories on the ‘booming Indian television market’.

Claudia Ciesla’s Indian publicist Flynn Remedios – himself a senior journalist and Media Analyst says: “While Bollywood and Bollywood movies were discussed and have been mentioned time and again in the European press and media, in the last two months, thanks to Claudia Ciesla’s ongoing stint in the popular Reality Show Bigg Boss, Indian Television shows have become the apple of the European media’s eye. At least 8-10 articles have appeared in the mainline European print media in the last one month alone,” explains Flynn, adding that one of the biggest German (and European) papers BILD has published two articles on Bigg Boss and Indian television shows in the last one month itself.

“A prestigious eco-political magazine FOCUS has also written about Indian Television. Local newspapers in Germany, Poland (from where Claudia originally hails) and Baveria (where she currently stays) have also run articles on Reality Shows in India,” adds Flynn Remedios displaying the clippings of these articles. “It’s not just the tabloid press or the entertainment media that’s suddenly taking additional interest in India. It’s also the business, commercial and financial media. Analytical articles have appeared on the advertising potential, the reach, etc of Indian channels like Colours. Even the quality of Indian TV programming and software has come under scrutiny with the latter coming out in a very positive and encouraging way,” explains Remedios. “Indian TV shows, their packaging, presentation, style, concept, publicity strategy and the works are now being discussed in detail in the European trade media,” informs Flynn Remedios, who tracks the international media with an eagle’s eye for his clients.

Another media analyst and entertainment journalist, Rejane Coelho opines that Claudia Ciesla’s participation has bridged Indian television with the mainline European media.

“It’s not just the print media in Germany and Europe, even local television channels have run clips and footage of the Indian version of Bigg Boss regularly, showcasing Claudia Ciesla’s performance – something which they probably would not have done if she was not in the show. She could barely speak a few words in Hindi when she very bravely went into the Bigg Boss house,” says Remedios, who was responsible for Claudia Ciesla’s media strategy, branding and imaging in India.

“Even I was worried. How would Claudia cope? How would she manage when her culture, customs, diet and lifestyle are so very different?” But Claudia Ciesla the fighter has managed to stick on for almost ten weeks, when others like Sherlyn Chopra with a much greater fan following were evicted in the first phase of the show itself.” Between Greg and myself, we had given her 6-8 weeks, says Remedios, but she has really done well for herself.

“When the show went on air, some of my media friends and even editors said Claudia Ciesla was a bimbette and kinda dumb. But that was a well-thought of strategy to lie low and stick around,” adds Remedios whose strategy has probably helped his client do what other Indian actresses like Sherlyn Chopra (co-incidentally his former client) failed to comprehend. Keeping a low profile, lying low was a rehearsed strategy. Claudia Ciesla is otherwise a very aggressive woman with fire in her belly, says Remedios.

German supermodel Claudia Ciesla who is an ardent follower of Hinduism and always carries a Ganesha with her, had visited several temples in India and even offered prayers and gifts at the Golden Temple – a shrine that she is very fond of – her manager Flynn Remedios revealed in an interview to a Bengali newspaper. Apparently, Claudia Ciesla who is very religious by nature, after her conversion to Hinduism has even tried to abstain from Non-Vegetarian food and alcohol. She has even stopped consuming wine. She was very keen on visiting certain places of worship before she could be locked up for three months and insisted that her publicist take her to the Siddhivinayak Temple at Prabhadevi and the Walkeshwar Temple both in Central Mumbai. She even paid a secret visit to the Dargah at Haji Ali - just hours before she left for the Fariyas Hotel at Lonavla prior to entering the Bigg Boss entrance event which was held at the Amby Valley - seeking the blessings of the Almighty, says her publicist. She went disguised at all the places, as her contract with the Channel Colours and the Production House Endemol forbid her from being seen or spotted in public.

So intense was her devotion that the day she arrived from Germany, she went to her hotel changed into Indian wear, disguised herself with a wig and immediately drove with her Indian manager and another friend to the Siddhivinayak Mandir at Prabhadevi where she stood in a queue for almost one hour to get a darshan of Ganeshji -all this after spending more than 16 hours in an airplane.

Claudia Ciesla’s near-death-experience in a Stunt Plane

We have all seen the mostly smiling, cute face of super model and Bollywood actress Claudia Ciesla on Bigg Boss on Colours. We also know that Claudia is a professional stunt pilot. What we don’t know is that the gorgeous beauty had an almost fatal accident and a near-death experience about one year ago – at the age of 18 - while training as a stunt pilot.

According to her publicist and manager Flynn Remedios, Claudia or CC as she is lovingly called by friends had just begun her training and it was her second flight. By then she already had her PPL or Private Pilot’s Licence, but flying stunt planes is an all together different ball game. Stunt planes are extremely lightweight or microlites are they are called in flying jargon, explains Flynn Remedios, adding that they have a very powerful engine. “Due to this combination, they can develop almost double the thrust and lift that a normal aircraft of that size can. This enables them to do summersaults and doubles and even take off or get airborne at shorter-than-normal duration. But controlling them is far more difficult and a new pilot can easily go wrong. A small error could mean life or death for the pilot.”

Claudia has also flown F-16s and other military aircraft at air shows in Germany. Of course the F-16s she flew were modified versions without any military entrapments. The planes didn’t carry any weapons, but never-the-less was an F-16 all right.

Explaining the incident, Flynn says, “Something went wrong and Claudia found the little micro lite stunt plane suddenly going out of control. She was not able to control the engine or get it to obey her. No matter how much she struggled with the joystick or flaps, the plane refused to obey her and CC found herself plummeting to the ground at about 200 kilometers an hour. She had reached ‘the point of no return’ or the minimum altitude where a stunt plane can recoup and get airborne again, when her frantic prayers were answered and the delinquent bird got back to normal and Claudia was able to guide it back to a proper landing.

The incident left her shocked and numb. At that time, Claudia had told a close friend that ‘when you are inches away from a near-sure death, you realise the importance of Life and know that it’s a gift to be cherished and respected. This incident also changed Claudia’s life to some extent. She got more active in social work and in India has plunged headlong into ‘doing her best for the poor, downtrodden and less fortunate.’

In recognition of her social work in India and her efforts towards resource mobilisation for the underprivileged, Claudia Ciesla was recently awarded the prestigious Karmaveer Puraskaar Award by iCongo on 26th November 2009. iCongo is the confederation of NGOs and the apex body representing major NGOs in India and the Khemka Foundation with partners like TISS, BCCI, NASSCOM, etc.

Super model and Hollywood actress Claudia Ciesla has many firsts to her credit. She is one of the first firangi models to be awarded the Karamveer Puraskaar in India for her social activism and involvement. She is also the first foreign model to make it to the Bigg Boss house. UK-born Gazala Singh in a three-film contract with Canadian production house White Tulip Films

The hot, sexy and vivacious 21-year-old Gazala Singh aka Navreen Kaur aka Gazala Kaur has been signed on for a three-film, two-year exclusive contract by the Canadian production house White Tulip Films. Besides this, we have embarked another Rs 50 crore for four Bollywood film projects,” says Martin Samuel, President of White Tulip Films of Canada in an exclusive interview to this journalist. White Tulip Films also offers angel and venture funding for interesting film projects. Their business model is based on inviting various partners to co-produce a film with the company playing an advisory role, also ensuring that returns are guaranteed to the investors.

Shikha Puri impresses Hollywood director Reynold Baines

Actress Shikha Puri who will be seen playing Parveen Babi in a film titled “The Three Kings” has impressed her Hollywood director Reynold Baines so much that the latter even offered her a role in a new film that he is planning to do.

Baines who was visiting India last week caught up with Shikha Puri who was not keeping too well. The celebrated director of short films and blockbusters alike, dropped in to say ‘Hello’. Shika apparently put her best foot forward and so impressed the man that he immediately offered her another project.

Shikha has already signed on a Reynold Baines directed movie The Three Kings that features characters that bear some resemblance to Mahesh Bhat, Parveen Babi, Zeenat Aman and Amitabh Bachchan. While the film is supposedly based on Parveen Babi’s life, it is a partly fictionalised version of Parveen Babi’s fast life. The film is produced jointly by Spectra Multimedia Films (I) and White Tulip Films of Canada.

The film is in Hinglish and is primarily targeted at an international audience, but will also be screened in India, Flynn Remedios, the script writer of the film said.

Shikha Puri was last seen in a Reality Show , Sarkar Ki Duniya on Real, Cash Cab on UTV and Exhausted on Channel V is the new babe to watch out for. She has done several ad films and print ads in less than six months of entering Bollywood.

Look alikes or Copy Cats: Kareena Kapoor in Kurbaan, Bosky Sheth in The Three Kings

Spectra Multimedia Films about two weeks ago released an advertisement in a Bollywood Trade Publication for their recently launched project The Three Kings which looked very much like the Kurbaan poster featuring Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. We couldn’t help observing the striking similarity.

The colour scheme of the poster of The Three Kings is similar to that of Kurbaan and the actress featured is Bosky Sheth who plays Zeenat Aman in the film. The actress is also bare-backed like Kareena Kapoor though there is no male, unlike in Kurbaan where Saif poses with his lady love. The Three Kings which is based on the life of Parveen Babi, also stars Shikha Puri who plays Babi.

Even the colour scheme of the lettering is quite similar. We couldn’t help wondering who copied whom. When we contacted Bosky Sheth she said that she couldn’t comment on the designs, layouts and artwork. “We had shot some stills for the film about three weeks ago. The advertisement was designed much before the Kurbaan posters and ads came out all over the place, said script writer and Executive Producer Flynn Remedios, refusing to comment any further on the similarity in the layout.

We wonder if this is very strange and rare coincidence or a clear case of Copy Cats at work. Anyway the striking resemblence of the two designs including the similarity in the fonts and colours is amazing.

TRUST BETRAYED: TV JOURNALIST BACK STABS, DOUBLE CROSSES PUBLICIST FOR 15 SECONDS OF FAME

Bollywood scriptwriter, freelance journalist and celebrity publicist Flynn Remedios was at the receiving end when a Headlines Today journo Aditya Amal and a couple of others broke the trust imposed in them and double crossed him. They promised him excellent coverage on Aajtak, claiming to be Aajtak journos if he shared with them private footage of some earlier rehearsal recording.

The story goes like this: PR invites journalists for a play or stage performance. As usual, PR hypes it up saying it’s a great, splendid performance and lots of Dhamaal expected. Messages are sent to media requesting them to witness a great performance. PR makes follow-up calls to ensure media attendance. Journo from the News channel says he cannot cover it as they don't normally cover plays. Journo says, unless he gets something exclusive or unless he is given special footage or the exclusive opportunity to get some 'great' footage he cannot send his unit.

In course of the conversation, PR suggests he has some earlier shot rehearsal footage which is not part of the actual stage performance. Once journo gets to know about this he begs, borrows and steals the footage promising, inducing and even threatening the PR who in the anxiety to get some fab publicity doesn't even take his client's permission to hand over footage which was shot to improvise the scene enacted in the play.
Says Flynn Remedios, himself a journalist and writer for the last 16 years, "The relationship between a journalist and a publicist is based on Trust. The world over, every day thousands of journalists and publicists discuss, suggest, brainstorm and "pitch" stories. Publicists are very often some of the most confidential "sources" for journalists and as a journalist myself we learn to protect our "sources" with our lives from the very start of our career. A journalist is only as good as his or her "source".

Journalists and Publicists are both highly qualified professionals of this great fraternity called the Media. So when a publicist "pitches" a story to a journalist the ensuing conversation is privileged. A journalist is under no obligation to accept or "do" the story pitched to him. But the entire process of pitching a story is an accepted principle of Public Relations and is a confidential discussion as would be between a lawyer and client or doctor or patient. It is solely on this Principle Of Trust that thousands of publicists the world over pitch stories and journalists in turn call spin doctors for "masala" or info. As a publicist myself, I get at least five calls each day from both Tv and Print journalists asking for information or "leads" or inputs which I am under no obligation to share, but which I may do "OFF RECORD" or ON CONDITION OF ANONYMITY. Besides this concept of pitching stories, the concept of "OFF RECORD" or CONDITION OF ANONYMITY is sacrosanct. What is off record is and must stay Off Record. These concepts and principles have been accepted and religiously respected by media professionals the world over ever since mass media came into existence.

Bollywood news or masala is mostly gossip or grapevine. But imagine what would happen if a journo forgot the code of Omerta and quoted on record the chairman of a large corporate or a politician on something that was strictly meant to be off record. Imagine what would happen if a publication or Tv channel did a sting operation on one of their own brethren or fraternity or bit the hand that fed them with juicy tidbits each day."

This is exactly what happened to Flynn Remedios. According to our information the concerned journalist conned, cajoled, coaxed and even coerced Flynn Remedios to part with video footage which was strictly confidential and private. Explains Flynn Remedios, "I was not ready to give them that footage (Read RAW footage). But they told me that if I wanted coverage for my client I must give them all the raw footage. That footage was of a rehearsal and was the private and confidential property of my company. It was given under certain explicit terms and conditions. There was a clear embargo against its use except for the sole purpose for what it was given. In that sense the journalist concerned cheated me and has committed breach of trust. He has fraudulently induced me to part with private footage the copyright of which is solely with me and the producer. The footage was given under a verbal contract that it would be used for "a" particular purpose only. In that sense they have stolen my private footage by misrepresenting themselves, cheating me and then claiming it to be a sting operation.

We share a lot of confidential info with journalists and also pass comments or voice our personal and private opinion about our clients or the products we promote based on this concept of Trust. Very often a journalist will ask a PR questions or info which is off record only for his background or personal knowledge. And a PR may say things in good faith or may share certain info which he otherwise should not because of this concept of trust. But whathappens when an over enthusiastic journo or editor clandestinely records this conversation and projects it as a sting operation. Bollywood gossip is not in national interest or in the interest of national security. I am not a government servant or public servant or official. What was the journalist and channel trying to prove. The journalist called me several times and almost begged and cajoled me to give him the footage. He asked me to get him some smokes at 3 am. I gave him a pack of fags which I borrowed from someone else because I considered him a friend and brother. But all the while he had a hidden camera on.

In fact, I would like to inform all PR professionals and the general public at large not to entertain one TV journalist Mr Aditya Amal and another called Sachin. They will double cross you and anything you may share with them off record and in confidence will be taped by hidden cameras. I never contacted or telephoned or called Aditya Amal. I didn't know him from Adam. I contacted a friend and asked him for help. A friend who has also asked me for help in the past. If journalists do sting operations on their PR sources, then I would like to tell them (that is the rotten apples among their ilk) that several journalists have asked me for favours which I am ashamed to even mention. Should I start doing sting operations every time a journo calls up for a favour.

Will the Aditya Amal who came to me as a friend and even told me who his ex girlfriend was from another channel, tell me what should I have done when a former Bureau Chief from the same group that his news channel belongs to asked for sexual favours from one of my former clients. What should I have done when other journalists asked me for "loans" to marry their kids or to pay their credit card bills or their car EMIs. Will you please tell me Aditya Amal as to what should I have done when an editor of a new news channel asked me to get him or arrange for "funding" from a certain politician and another business baron whom I was close to. I could have done a sting operation and got my 15 seconds of fame brother Aditya, but I respect the code. The code of silence that keeps this great industry called "the media" going. A lot of journalists ask for illegal favours. I politely decline. But I don't kiss and tell. I don't indulge in pillow talk brother Aditya. I don't rat on journos who ditch me or let me down. We need each other. We exist because the other does. If I was trying to spice up my story, I was doing my legitimate job which is accepted as a profession by the University of Mumbai. You asked for the "special footage" which I would have never given. You phoned me several times. Brother Aditya all my phone calls are recorded by default. It says so on my website too. But I don't make private conversations public. I NEVER reveal info that's meant to be Off Record. You broke the code. And it was not in national interest or in the interest of national security. It was not to expose a corrupt official. It was to try to pull the rug off the feet of a poor, hard working dedicated PR professional. It was for your and your Channels' 15 seconds of fame brother, not mine or my clients. And the sad part is my client didn't know anything about this. My client was unaware of everything."

We tried to contact the journalist concerned, immediately after this footage went on air, but his phone was switched off and he was not reachable. We wonder why would he switch off his phone when he had the scoop of the day.

Well, well what do we say to all this. Like they say when clouds collide there is bound to be lightning. But when brothers in arms fight its really sad and reflects the dog-eat-dog world we live in.

Major Wardrobe Malfunction at Begum Sahiba – actress topless on stage as blouse falls off?

A major wardrobe malfunction occurred during the staging of the controversial play Begum Sahiba starring Rahul Roy and Poonam Dasgupta at the Rang Shardha auditorium at Bandra in suburban Mumbai. For a few seconds stage artiste and actress Zara was topless and her breasts exposed as her blouse or top fell of accidently.

Theatre artiste Zara who was performing a dance for the Begum (Poonam Dasgupta) was shocked and stunned out of her wits when her top came undone exposing her bare breasts. While she was quick to cover her ample assets with her hands, the few seconds were enough to give the viewers a good glimpse of her well contoured and surgically well-enhanced breasts. Director Kiran Avdikononu was heard shouting “lights off” while Zara ran off into the wings covering her busts with her hands.

Television Channel Aajtak – Subse Tej of course - was the first to air the footage of the wardrobe malfunction and break the story. Other TV channels followed suit and the news was the talk of the town within hours.

All the artistes starring in the play including Poonam Dasgupta, Amit Pachori, Kaanu Mukherjee and Raj Premi were quick to apologise and express regret at the unexpected and untoward incident. Terming it as an accident, Raj Premi and Amit Pachori said that they were sorry for the accident. Fashion Designer Umair Zaffar who was the official fashion designer for the play Begum Sahiba also expressed regret and said that it is possible that because Zara had to change her outfit in a split second and come back on stage, she must have forgotten to tie the top securely.

A sobbing Poonam Dasgupta and Zara also said that there could be a possibility of sabotage. “I have worked so hard to make this play happen and I am sure somebody has messed up with the outfits while the artistes were on stage. I am sure it is a case of orchestrated sabotage,” said Poonam Dasgupta. Zara who was sobbing bitterly back stage said that this was her first theatre performance on a grand scale. Begum Sahiba publicist Flynn Remedios promptly issued an official apology on behalf of the producers of the play Saar Entertainers and promised to look into the matter. “If it is a mistake on our part, we are extremely sorry, but if somebody has done this on purpose, we will take him or her to task. On the face of it, it’s a clear case of sabotage. Somebody has done this on purpose to defame the play and sabotage our business,” said Flynn Remedios in an official press release.

Petite Bosky Sheth debuts as Zeenat Aman in The Three Kings - Bachchan unperturbed.

The gorgeous, sexy and petite Bosky Sheth is all set to star in her debut international film titled “The Three Kings”. The film is loosely based on the life of Parveen Babi and also has characters resembling noted film personality Mahesh Bhatt and others like Kabir Bedi and Bollywood stalwart Amitabh Bachchan who were important characters in the late Babi’s life.

Speaking to the media at a press interaction in Mumbai, the 19-year-old Bosky who originally hails from Ahmedabad said that she was “simply thrilled”.

When asked as to how it all happened, Bosky said, “I have been modelling for the last two years now and it was more or less a hobby. I am currently finishing my graduation in Commerce from a college in Mumbai. I had circulated my photos to all production houses and modelling agencies in Mumbai. In the first week of October, I got a call from Spectra Multimedia Films India – who represent White Lilac Films – who asked me to drop in for a screen and look test. I went and gave the look test and sort of forgot about it. To my utter surprise and disbelief, they called me a week later and asked me if I would like to do the role. I was simply stunned. Of course, I said yes. Who wouldn’t want such a challenging role?”

Bosky who has been modelling for the last two years has done several print and television commercials and also features in a couple of music videos. But this is her first big film project.

The script for The Three Kings has been penned by film journalist Flynn Remedios, who spent over three years researching the project. It will hit the floors end-November and is directed by Hollywood director Reynold Baines. The film is expected to be completed by end 2010 and will release in mid 2011.

While Mahesh Bhatt has welcomed the film, Amitabh Bachchan in an interview to news agency PTI said, he wouldn’t be affected. According to the PTI report, even as a new film threatens to rake up dirt about the alleged Parveen Babi-Amitabh Bachchan relationship, the superstar comes clear of the old accusations saying that such controversies have stopped affecting him.

The film 'Three Kings' by Hollywood director Reynold Baines reportedly revolves around the controversial actress and the three men in her life, director Mahesh Bhatt, actor Kabir Bedi and Bachchan, but the 'Shehen shah' of Bollywood is far from perturbed, PTI reported.

"I don't know where they are getting all this rubbish from because it's all untrue. But what can you do, it is another artiste's perception of who I am," Bachchan told PTI in an exclusive interview.

Apart from wife Jaya, Bachchan made the maximum films with Babi, including cult classics like 'Don' and 'Amar Akbar Anthony'.

Here’s what veteran director Mahesh Bhatt said to DNA, “"I've no imagined greatness to think that a film will misrepresent me. A creative person is free to interpret real-life incidents. I don't feel I will drag them to court even if they name me in the film. A real life story needs to be treated with a pinch of salt."

Actress Shikha Puri nude in a film on Parveen Babi

Actress Shikha Puri who had recently posed topless for a documentary film “The Dog” has now bettered herself. She will be seen playing Parveen Babi in a film tentatively titled “The Three Kings” and featuring characters that bear some resemblance to Mahesh Bhatt and Madhur Bhandarkar. While the film is supposedly based on Parveen Babi’s life, it could not be confirmed as the director of the film, Reynolds Baines is currently travelling and was not reachable.

Sources said that in the film, Shikha will pose nude for a bathroom scene. There are about 3-5 nude scenes in the film which will be made at a budget of Rs 10 crore.

According to Shikha Puri’s publicist Flynn Remedios, Shikha has just signed the film and we are “yet to get the final script.” The film is in Hinglish and is primarily targeted at an international audience, but will also be screened in India, Flynn Remedios added.

Shikha Puri was last seen in a Reality Show , Sarkar Ki Duniya on Real, Cash Cab on UTV and Exhausted on Channel V is the new babe to watch out for. She has done several ad films and print ads in less than six months of entering Bollywood. Sanjay even went steps ahead and said that if Prabhod Davkhare found it right, he would love to be the brand ambassador for the brand of gyms and fitness clubs. ‘Prabodh Davkhare is a good friend and I have always told him to push his efforts even further. I would love to be the brand ambassasdor of his gyms if Prabodh finds me suitable for the job,” said Sanju baba modestly.

Prabodh Davkhare runs one of the most modern and sophisticated fitness clubs and gyms in Thane called Healthworks gym. While going through the gym, Sanjay Dutt worked out for about ten minutes on the thread mill, the weights machine and even pushed some iron.

Sources close to Prabodh Davkhare said that Sanju baba is very keen on the fitness business and the two of them have been contemplating starting a chain of fitness clubs for some time. Confirming this, Prabodh Davkhare said, ‘I would love to have Sanjay Dutt to advise my gym members and clients. Munnabhai exercised, lifted weights, pressed some iron and even watched a demonstration of Karate along with about 200 excited fitness freaks from the area. He shared tips with the staff and even demonstrated certain correct methods of lifting weights, pressing iron etc.

Sanju baba and Prabodh Davkhare later on addressed a press conference where Sanjay Dutt answered about 50 to 100 questions from the audience regarding health, fitness, right diet etc. There were about 200 fitness enthusiasts present at the venue while a crowd of about 2000 persons gathered out the Healthworks Gym to get a glimpse of their favourite superstar.

Speaking at the Press Conference, Prabhodh Davkhare praised and thanked Sanju Baba for taking time out of his busy schedule to encourage and support the youngsters. “Sanjay Dutt has been a great source of help and encouragement both personally and for the entire staff at Healthworks India, and I thank him on behalf of every member and employee at Healthworks India,” said Prabodh Davkhare.

Sanjay Dutt also praised Prabodh Davkhare for his efforts to popularise the idea and concept of fitness.
Not too long ago, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan also visited the Healthworks Gym and spent almost an hour with the crowd. Other stars who were present included Zulfi Sayed and many other lesser known Bollywood personalities.

Fashion model and actress Kristna Saika accuses producer of humiliation

Fashion and art model and actress Kristna Saika has accused the production house Cine Centre and its producer Prakash Shetty of ill-treating her during the shooting of the film Molly in Bangalore last week. The film is directed by Rajiv Gupta, who is also an editor and had last edited the film ‘Shortcut’. Molly is Rajiv Gupta’s debut film.

Apparently according to Kristna Saika, she was put up in a dirty house and made to eat stale food. Her colleague and herself were not provided with warm water for bathing and were inconvenienced in every little way. They were not picked up from the airport when they landed in Bangalore and had to do everything on their own. No facilities were extended to them that are normally provided to cine stars and models.

The production house has denied all these allegations, saying that Kristna is just making a mountain of a mole hill and using the issue as a publicity stunt.

However, Kristna has produced a medical certificate claiming that she had to take a flight back – with her own money – to Mumbai when she fell ill due to the shoddy food and lodging conditions. She has undergone medical treatment for throat infection, stomach poisoning and various other related ailments.

Kristna has complained to the IMPAA – the association of film producers – a claim that is countered by the producer who says that it was he who first approached IMPAA after the actress walked out of his film without informing him and left for Mumbai.

Actress Krrishika Gupta of the Neetu Chandra-The Man magazine photo shoot fame is very upset, angry and is actually tearing out her hair. Thanks to the erotic cover photo shoot, she has been labeled as a lesbian by most of her friends. In fact, so acute is the problem that her male friends are wary of letting their girl friends go alone with her, fearing that she may make a pass at them.

The icing on the cake was when she went to a disco at a 5-star hotel at Juhu in suburban Mumbai on Sunday. As she was enjoying herself on the dance floor, two women who seemed to be drunk surrounded her and began groping her. They pawed her, said vulgar things about the photo shoot and even tried to push their hands into her skirt. Krrishika had to slap one of them and get away.

According to Krrishika’s publicist Flynn Remedios, who has sent a written complaint to the hotel’s management, the women almost confined Krrishika between them for a full five minutes. “Krrishika didn’t want to raise a stink and somehow managed to get away, but not before the women had royally molested and groped her,” said Flynn Remedios.

In fact, the women first bumped into her at the bar, when she went to get herself a can of a popular energy drink. The women who were drinking at the bar noticed Krrishika who was wearing a short mini skirt and a tight top.

Says Krrishika, “When they say me, they looked at each other and sort of smiled. The taller well-built woman who didn’t seem to be Indian – she was fair-skinned and spoke with an accent – asked her if she was the same model who was in a lesbian photo shoot with an actress. Initially Krrishika didn’t suspect anything wrong and answered them in the affirmative. As she took her energy drink and went back to the dance floor, the women – in their late 20s followed her.

A furious Krrishika said that there should be a law against molestation of a person by another person of the same sex.

During the time of the photo shoot controversy, Krrishika got almost 200 SMS messages from her friends and contacts in the industry actually asking her if she ‘had turned lesbian’. Says Krrishika, “I am not at all lesbian from any angle. I am a normal heterosexual and I even sort of like someone, but I am currently not dating any one. Sex is the last thing on my mind as I am concentrating on my work.”

Krrishika’s publicist Flynn Remedios gets about 2-3 enquries from media persons each day with regard to lesbian or gay related themes. “During the recent gay controversy, several media persons called me to ask if Krrishika Gupta would like to speak on the subject as she had done a lesbian shoot,” says Remedios, explaining that he had a tough time telling media persons that Krrishika Gupta was NOT lesbian at all.

We hear that Krrishika Gupta has been approached by Spectra Multimedia Films to do a special film. Spectra Multimedia has launched about ten film projects and one of them is a film that’s based on the love triangle between Shahid Kapoor, Kareena and Saif Ali Khan.

New bombshell on the block, Aashi Singh is all set to take Bollywood by storm. The sexy siren from the hills (yes, she is a true blue pahadi chori from the green hills up north) has signed on two new Bollywood films and is working on her latest music album tentatively titled AASHI UNPLUGGED produced by Spectra Multimedia Films.

The video which is being made at a budget of Rs 50 lakh is pegged to be one of the most expensive videos ever made. The promotion and marketing budget of this video will be in the range of Rs 30 lakh and the total project cost is estimated to be around Rs 80 to 90 lakh. The video will be shot in 3 international locales, but details of the same are not yet available. Our sources said that the project will take off in Dec-Jan and is expected to be on air in Feb 2010.

Spokesperson and Executive Producer for Spectra Multimedia Films, Flynn Remedios who have signed Aashi Singh for this project said that the music is being worked on by DJ Shezwood and DJ Akbar Sami. “We are still working on the theme of the video and once we have a fix on the music, we will decide on the location of the shoot. This is a very ambitious project and we are keeping our fingers crossed,” he added.

Aashi is not new to Bollywood. In a matter of two years, she has built up a very impressive biodata and is a name to reckon with. Shah Rukh Khan detained, humiliated at Newark Airport in USA

International icon and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was detained, humiliated and subjected to unnecessary questioning at the Newark Airport in the USA. He was only released when the Indian Embassy in the US intervened. SRK as he is popularly known told News Agency PTI that he felt angry and humiliated. According to SRK, he has a very common Muslim surname and it was not surprising that his surname should crop up on the US immigration computers.

Meanwhile the Indian Government, stung by the ‘national disgrace’ has asked the US to explain why SRK was allegedly detained for two hours at Newark airport, close to New York.

Shah Rukh Khan was in the US to promote a film on racial profiling. Many other Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and others are expected to attend the promotions.

US customs and immigration officials denied that Mr Khan had been detained, saying he was questioned for 66 minutes, which is routine and should not be made out as an exception.

According to the BBC and other reports, Elmer Camacho, a spokesman for the US Bureau of Customs and Border Protection, said the questioning was part of the agency's routine process to screen foreign travellers.

The US ambassador to India, Timothy Roehmer, said the embassy was looking into Mr Khan's case. Speaking in Delhi, Mr Roehmer said: "Shah Rukh Khan, the actor and global icon, is a very welcome guest in the United States. Many Americans love his films." He said the embassy was trying to "ascertain the facts of the case - to understand what took place".

Shah Rukh Khan, 44, earlier told the Press Trust of India news agency he had been detained by immigration officials at Newark airport because his name came up on a computer check list.

He told the agency that he had been released after he was allowed to message a politician in India, who contacted the Indian embassy in Washington on his behalf.

SRK was on his way from New York to Chicago to attend an Indian Independence Day celebration when he was stopped at Newark airport in the state of New Jersey.

Last month, America's Continental Airlines apologised to APJ Abdul Kalam amid outrage in India when it emerged that the former Indian president had been frisked and made to remove his shoes at Delhi airport in April. The airline said in a statement that it had not intended to offend Mr Kalam or the sentiments of the people of India.

Bollywood’s very own Angelina Jolie aka Aaliyah was mobbed at Infinity Mall at Lokhandwala in the suburb of Andheri in Mumbai on Wednesday late evening. According to an eye-witness, Aaliyah was doing some shopping at Infinity Mall at around 9 pm when some teenagers saw her and recognised her from the several hoardings that have sprung up all over Mumbai, heralding the launch of her debut music album and video titled AALIYAH. To make matters worse for teenage sensation Aaliyah, her music video promos are on air and a popular radio station was running a recorded interview with her when the incident happened.

The teenagers numbering about a dozen noticed her at the Food Court and raised a ruckus saying that a Bollywood actress had come to Infinity Mall. Within moments, Aaliyah and her friend were surrounded by almost two dozen teenagers as well as older youth, who just would not let her go. They demanded that she click photographs and sign autographs.

Aaliyah was gheraoed for about 20 minutes till she obliged the entire crowd with photos and autographs. Fortunately, before the situation could get out of hand, with the help of some elders amongst the crowd Aaliyah and her friend managed to escape.

A frightened, but also partly amused Aaaliyah later told this journalist that she never expected that the crowd would recognise her. “Though my video is on air on several channels and my promos are on almost every other news and entertainment channel, it was the hoardings in the vicinity of Lokhandwala that the crowd seemed to be taken in by.”

German supermodel and promising Bollywood actress Claudia Ciesla has been house hunting for a “decent place to stay” in Juhu, Lokhandwala and Bandra in suburban Mumbai say sources. While Claudia Ciesla is currently in Munich, she intends to move permanently and settle down in Mumbai and has even roped in an agent to find her a “good, decent place to stay”.

Claudia’s publicist for India, Flynn Remedios said that Claudia is very fond of the Juhu area particularly the sea front and would love to find either a flat or a small apartment that she could rent. “Yes she is house-hunting and would like to permanently settle down in Mumbai which she now considers her home. She has short-listed three locations – Juhu, Bandra and Lokhandwala and will check out the apartments when she is in Mumbai next.”

Claudia Ciesla has been getting several offers from regional film makers including offers to do films in Tamil, Marathi and Bengali, said Flynn Remedios who also doubles up as her business manager for India. Right now, Claudia is considering and reading scripts for a multi-lingual cross over film where she would play an NRI girl who returns to India after almost 30 years. She is yet to sign the film though and will probably do so after a final meeting with the producer and director when she returns to India. A furious Shradha Sharma lashed out viciously at Rakhi Sawant’s ex-boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi asserting that Abhishek Awasthi was a liar, a dog and an idiot.

Shradha’s rage went through the roof when she read an interview in the latest issue of Showtime magazine, where in an interview Abhishek Awasthi was quoted as saying, “I don’t know who the hell this Shradha Sharma is. I have seen articles on the net linking our names together, but I have kept silent because the more I talk about this, the more publicity the other person will get and I don’t want that.”

Abhishek’s statements were a desperate means to get into the good books of Rakhi Sawant and a last-ditch effort to distance himself from ex-flame Shradha Sharma. In the past Rakhi Sawant had accused Abhishek Awasthi of ditching her for Shradha Sharma and even trying to woo another woman while he was living-in with her. In an interview Rakhi had said, “I pray that God may punish Abhishek for cheating me”.

When we confronted Shradha Sharma with this interview, she blew her top. “Like a dog, Abhishek used to stand outside my house and wait for me. He brought me wine bottles and flowers and used to sit at my feet and press my legs calling me names like ‘princess’ etc. He is an idiot and I knew from the start that he only wanted to use me to further his own career. He promised me lots of work and tried to show me that he had all of Rakhi Sawant’s contacts. If I meet him, I will give him two tight slaps. He wanted me to marry him. He used to woo me with promises like ‘I will keep you very happy baby’. He even invited me several times to his new flat at Malad and we even watched a few films at his pad all alone. Now the b*****d doesn’t have the b***s to face up to all that. He is a coward and an idiot of the first order. I haven’t seen a bigger looser than him,” blurted a visibly upset and screaming Shradha Sharma.

Wanting to set the record straight, Shradha Sharma got her publicist Flynn Remedios to issue an official Press Statemen claiming that “Shradha Sharma was very hurt and disappointed with Abhishek Awasthi and his dirty tricks and irresponsible comments. It is sad that he is lying through his teeth. Shradha Sharma doesn’t need Abhishek’s help for her publicity. “

So furious and violent was she that we decided not to ask her any more questions about her “friendship” with Abhishek Awasthi. But she added on her own, “I kept quiet about this entire issue all this while as I don’t believe in washing dirty linen in public. What transpired between Abhishek Awasthi and me was something very private. In fact, I would not have entertained him in the first place, but he promised to teach me dance and get me good work. I was at that time looking for a good choreographer and he offered to help me out. He also told me that Rakhi used to ill-treat him and he wanted to opt out of the relationship with Rakhi Sawant. “

“Even when the media questioned me, I only said that Abhishek was a friend. But now I know that he is an idiot and a loser. He had told me time and again that he was willing to ‘dump’ Rakhi Sawant if I agreed to marry him. He wanted to marry me at all cost and did everything to woo me and convince me. We have gone on long drives and once even met with a minor accident as Abhishek got me some wine and got me drunk on the way. He was trying to get me into a soup or a compromising position with him so that he could possibly blackmail me later on.”

He was even trying to sleep with me by hook or crook. He got me drunk by getting very strong wine, knowing very well that I cannot hold my drinks. He would tell me that the wine was very mild and would pour out a full glass. Not knowing the strength of the wine, I would drink it only to realise after a few minutes that my head was reeling and paining badly. Abhishek Awasthi was trying to get me drunk in order to have sex with me, thinking that I would succumb to his demands and pressure. Fortunately for me, I saw through his tricks and managed to keep him at bay.”

We tried to contact Abhishek Awasthi for his comments, but his phone was not reachable in spite of several attempts. We even sent him an SMS but he didn’t respond to our efforts to contact him for his side of the story.

Alexander gets sexed-up with nubile semi nude belles in Royal Utsav

The Mythical potboiler and period film Royal Utsav - a film based on the story of the reincarnation of the Greek conqueror Alexander - will be modified and tailored with a generous sprinkling of semi-nude and partly clad sexy models and the story and plot partly changed to suit international audiences.

Alexander and his entourage will be sexed-up with nubile semi nude belles all cast in a different time and age, say sources, adding that the production wallas want the film to appeal to an international audience.

The film is pregnant with love, lust, romance, glamour and sex and requires a mature audience to appreciate its intrinsic values and story. With the modification, the glamour component will go up substantially, say sources.

Says a spokesperson from Shivhari Media – the producers of the film, “We have a lot of footage which was shot during the making of the film. To suit Indian sensibilities and a traditional audience we had not used a lot of the footage. However, I am sure international audiences would be more tolerant and will appreciate some spice in the film.”

The Greek King’s conquest of expanding his empire to the eastern world came to an end when he came to India. Alexander was forced to leave India as his army got home sick. As recorded by historians, on his way back home, Alexander died in Babylon. Royal Utsav begins where history ends.

According to the film, Alexander is reborn in Greece in a small town house. An astrologer christens him Sikander and as he grows up Sikander dreaming of going to India one day together with his bosom friend. He finally reaches his dream destination during the Maurya rule.

When in India, he falls in love with Roopmati, one of India’s most beautiful women. Meanwhile, Katherin, a Greek princess in love with Alexander makes her way to India only to discover he’s madly in love and ready to elope with someone else. Royal Utsav is a film where historical stories from Greece and India cross and entwine paths to create a mythical saga picking threads from mythology and history.

According to director Ravi K Patva, “This film tells the tale of Alexander the Great, but not the way the world knows it from history books. Alexander’s saga ends with his death but thanks to some cinematic liberty we came up with the story of Royal Utsav. Portraying Alexander’s rebirth was an innovative concept and it allowed for a lot of space to write a very compelling script.

This film is about the journey of love and to what length humans can go to find love. In the film Alexander falls in love with Roopmati a courtesan in the Royal Palace, while Katherin the Greek princess lusts for an Indian poet. Will the Greek princess use her power to ensnare Alexander or pull him away from Roopmati? It’s a showcase of International diverse cultures coming together in a Royal Utsav.

In terms of grandeur the film will please the audiences, says the director Set in 400 B.C., it’s a visual treat that will delight the viewer with adequate doses of lust and sex.

Made at a budget of Rs 150 million, the Indian edition of the film was released in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu. Now the producers plan to release it internationally after the changes. Everything, from the costumes to the music, is well researched. Its sets are really magnificent, added Patwa.

Chirag Ruia: “We were chased by wolves while shooting Chal Chalein”

Child actor and model Chirag Ruia who makes his Bollywood debut with the film Chal Chalein releasing on 7th August was chased by wolves while shooting for the film in Allahabad.

Says Chirag, “We were shooting some court room scenes in Allahabad and spent almost a month there. While most of our stay was uneventful, one incident will remain etched in our minds for a long time to come. One evening after we had wrapped up for the day, we went out to have a look at the country side. We were driving through a side route that bordered a hamlet about 80 kilometers away from Allahabad city when we stopped our car as the driver wanted to answer nature’s call. There were a lot of bushes and shrubbery in the vicinity and I later learnt that a small forest was nearby.

As we got off the car, a pack of wild wolves suddenly emerged out of the bushes apparently out of nowhere and charged at us. We were scared out of our wits and jumped into the car and bolted the doors. Luckily the windows were shut and the driver drove like crazy over the pot-holed, dusty village road till the wolves gave up chase. We were all trembling and very scared. When we returned to our hotel and narrated our story, the other locals started laughing. Apparently, we had driven through a jungle area that is known to be infested by wolves, cheetah, wild dogs and boar – route that even locals fear to take.”

Chirag Ruia has appeared in over 200 print and television ads including serials like Chamatkar on DD 1, Kya Mujse Dosti Karoge on Hungama, Kitu Sab Janti Hein on Sahara One, Rooh on Zee TV, Raavan on Zee TV, Son Pari on Star Plus and Dil Mil Gaye on Star One. He has also featured in programs on Zoom and other regional channels, besides also doing a Bhojpuri film. Chirag was on the Indian Oil calendar in 2004, Purple Kids wear campaign and Hercules Cycles to name a few.

Speaking about the film, Chirag Ruia says, “Chal Chalein is the story of eight students, who find themselves in extreme anxiety because of their parent’s constant pressure to excel in their academic career. It is a real life story. One of them is unable to withstand the pressure and commits suicide. All the seven friends decide to file a case against their dead friend’s parents and the government.”

Shilpa Shukla is the defence lawyer while Mukesh Khanna is the judge. Music for the film is provided by Illayraja who is a well-known music director from the south.

Meanwhile, Katherin, a Greek princess in love with Alexander makes her way to India only to discover he’s madly in love and ready to elope with someone else. Royal Utsav is a film where historical stories from Greece and India cross and entwine paths to create a mythical saga picking threads from mythology and history.

According to director Ravi K Patva, “This film tells the tale of Alexander the Great, but not the way the world knows it from history books. Alexander’s saga ends with his death but thanks to some cinematic liberty we came up with the story of Royal Utsav. Portraying Alexander’s rebirth was an innovative concept and it allowed for a lot of space to write a very compelling script.

This film is about the journey of love and to what length humans can go to find love. In the film Alexander falls in love with Roopmati a courtesan in the Royal Palace, while Katherin the Greek princess lusts for an Indian poet. Will the Greek princess use her power to ensnare Alexander or pull him away from Roopmati? It’s a showcase of International diverse cultures coming together in a Royal Utsav.

In terms of grandeur the film will please the audiences, says the director Set in 400 B.C., it’s a visual treat that will delight the viewer with adequate doses of lust and sex.

Made at a budget of Rs 150 million, the Indian edition of the film was released in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu. Now the producers plan to release it internationally after the changes. Everything, from the costumes to the music, is well researched. Its sets are really magnificent, added Patwa.

Child prodigy Chirag Ruia debuts with Chal Chalein on August 7

Child actor and model Chirag Ruia will make his Bollywood debut with the film Chal Chalein which releases on 7th August. Says Chirag, “It was a great experience working on this project. I have been before the camera since the age of 8 as a model, but this was a totally different high.”

Chirag Ruia has appeared in numerous print and television ads including serials like Chamatkar on DD 1, Kya Mujse Dosti Karoge on Hungama, Kitu Sab Janti Hein on Sahara One, Rooh on Zee TV, Raavan on Zee TV, Son Pari on Star Plus and Dil Mil Gaye on Star One. Chirag was on the Indian Oil calendar in 2004, Purple Kids wear campaign and Hercules Cycles to name a few.

Director Ujjwal Singh who also debuts with this social drama says, “Mithunda and Ratiji are not paired together. While, Mithunda plays a lawyer, Ratiji plays an introvert housewife from Bihar who is the stereotype Indian woman.”

Says Chirag Ruia, “Chal Chalein is the story of eight students, who find themselves in extreme anxiety because of their parent’s constant pressure to excel in their academic career. It is a real life story. One of them is unable to withstand the pressure and commits suicide. All the seven friends decide to file a case against their dead friend’s parents and the government.”

“Rati and Kanwaljeet Singh play the parents of the child who commits suicide, while Mithun plays the children’s lawyer. The whole case takes the shape of a national issue and generates a lot of public opinion,” explained Singh.

Shilpa Shukla is the defence lawyer while Mukesh Khanna is the judge. Music for the film is provided by Illay raja who is a well-known music director from the south.

Film Unit didn’t have permission to use the animal

Well this news is something that the Animal Welfare Board and PETA must take very seriously.

According to reports in the local vernacular press, and eye witness accounts, the elephant that killed its mahout at Athirappilly on Wednesday evening after it was taken to the site of shooting of Mani Ratnam’s film, ‘Ravan’, was allegedly provoked, chained and harassed, before it ran amuck. In fact, the local press in southern India has criticized Mani Ratnam, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai for being insensitive to animals and treating them merely as beasts of burden.

Some farmers and onlookers as quoted by local television said that the mahout tried to make the elephant do some tricks – apparently to impress the star guests including Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. The elephant was in no mood to oblige though and after being pushed to its tether by the mahout, finally gored him to death.

In an attempt to impress the stars, the production guys and unit wallas, the mahout tried to force the animal to do impossible things – some thing that PETA must find out. Apparently, the mahout went out of his way to impress the production and unit hands to get a better price for his services and for the use of the elephant in the film. Eyewitnesses also said that the unit hands created a huge commotion while the mahout tried to rein in the huge beast. This further frightened the animal, which went haywire.

According to a report in The Hindu, the elephant named Kunju, gored its mahout Aandavan, 51, to death at Charpa during the evening hours. It then ran amok and was brought under control only after midnight after forest officials shot it down with a tranquilizer gun.

“The film crew and tourists watched the incident. Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, and the director were shifted to an inspection bungalow of the Forest Department,” said Kanichayi Baby, production manager of the film. “They remained there for a few hours till the commotion that followed the incident died down. Contrary to reports that appeared in the media, no member of the film crew was trapped in the forests or was without water and basic food. Of course, they must have missed the five star food and treatment that is the norm.”

Animal welfare activists alleged that the elephant was used for film shooting, while the production unit maintained it was not.

“The elephant was brought to Athirappilly on Tuesday, but it was not featured in the film. We suspect that the mahout was under the influence of alcohol,” Mr. Baby said.

The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) has asked the Kerala Forest Department on Thursday to inquire into the incident and submit a report. It also served a notice on the producers asking them to explain how and why the animal was featured in the film without the permission of the Board.
“Pre-shoot permission and post-shoot no-objection certificates from AWBI are mandatory for featuring animals in films,” said D. Rajasekar, AWBI secretary.

The Kerala Elephant Lovers’ Association demanded action against the producers for allegedly violating the Performing Animals (Registration) Rules of 2001.

According to veterinarian P. B. Giridas, who examined the elephant on Thursday, the animal was shot with a tranquilizer gun on Wednesday, informs The Hindu.

Speaking to journalist Flynn Remedios, Rakhi Sawant Bollywood’s most enigmatic and unpredictable personality said that she was NOT going to marry.

“This is just another Reality Show or Game Show. It’s just like any other TV program. I am not going to marry now. Maybe I may date the winner in real life. But it doesn’t mean that I am bound to marry the winner of the show if there is any one.”

When further queried, she shot back, “There is a possibility that there may not be any winner. Yes I may decide I do not eventually like anyone from this lot of suitors,” quipped the drama queen adding and hinting that there may be a Rakhi ka Swayamwar Part II or Season II.

Rakhi insisted that she would definitely want to get to know the contestants in real life. “Yeh toh Reel Life hein. Real Life to alag hein na. I have to get to know them inside out. Barabar se tatolna hoga. I can not make the same mistakes I made earlier.

Apparently, Rakhi has been married twice before according to unconfirmed media reports and should she get married this time, it would possibly be her third marriage. In fact, one of her former beaus had raised a ruckus saying that legally Rakhi Sawant was still married to him and how could the actress and item queen get married again.

Salman Khan leaves photographer with a bloody nose at music launch

Salman Khan and his entourage - though unintentionally and unknowingly - left a photographer with a bleeding nose at a music launch function at the J W Marriott on Thursday.

According to eye witnesses, Salman Khan was the chief guest at the music launch of the film Shadow. About 50 photographers and another 50-60 TV cameramen were jostling for space on and around the dais to get exclusive or good pix of Sallu bhaiya. The media crowd was getting difficult to handle as there was a lot of pushing and shoving.

When it was time for Sallu to leave, his bodyguards began creating a way for him to move out without being mobbed by the paparazzi. Suddenly Salman and his bodyguards moved out of the podium, accidentally injuring a photographer M Surayakant in the process. The shutterbug was hit on his nose by the elbow of one of the burly bodyguards when he moved his hand behind to shield Salman from the aggressive photographers.

Though this was completely unintentional and a genuine accident, the shutterbug has vowed never to attend a Salman event again.

Signs on Megha Narkar for the role

Starlet Apsara Soni who was signed on by Spectra Multimedia Films (I) Inc to play the lead female role in the controversial film, “The Secret Life of Karina” has been ‘dropped’ from the project within two days of being signed.

Spokesperson and publicist for Spectra Multimedia, Flynn Remedios said, “Apsara Soni had a lot of attitude problems and wasn’t on the same wave length with the producers vis-à-vis the script. Within one day of being signed on, she began to dictate terms to the producers. She was not comfortable with several other issues and hence we had to take a decision to drop her within 48 hours of signing her for the film. We have now signed on Gladrags Mega Model 2009 finalist Megha Narkar as the female lead in the film.”

The Bollywood flick “The Secret Life of Karina” has been mired in controversy from the moment go. The Rs 20-core flick features a female super star who is a prostitute in real life and the male lead called Saifee who is brigand and smuggler.

Sources also said that there are 40 kissing and bedroom scenes, 5 murders and 3 rape instances in the film. However, Spectra Multimedia spokesperson Flynn Remedios refused to comment, saying that the script, plot and scenes are yet to be finalized.

According to unconfirmed reports the film is loosely based on the life of Bollywood super star Kareena Kapoor and has some very controversial scenes which deal with the love life of the characters in question. It also features a rogue character called Saifee and another called Shaheed – subtle, but apparent references to Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor.

According to sources, Shradha Sharma was offered Rs 50 lakh to play the role of Karina in the film but she turned it down as “she didn’t want to offend Kareena Kapoor and was not comfortable with the 40 kissing scenes.”

Down Memory Lane with Micheal Jackson in India

Journalist Flynn Remedios recounts his memories of covering the Micheal Jackson tour in India in 1996..

“The year was 1996 and I was then with Island magazine from the Magna Group. Raj Thackeray and his newly formed Shiv Udyog Sena in association with Wizcraft had announced the HISTory Micheal Jackson Tour in India (for charitable purpose of course – the proceeds of the tour was to be used to generate job opportunities for the SUS) and we were all naturally very excited. We were waiting for the big day. Jackson was supposed to come to Mumbai a couple of days before. He was to stay in a suite at The Oberoi and as field reporters we had been assigned to find out how The Oberoi was preparing to make the King of Pop feel at home.”

As a reporter who religiously covered and reported on the controversies surrounding the Micheal Jackson tour in India in 1996, Flynn Remedios recalls how Shiv Sena Supremo Balasaheb Thackeray – then the roaring tiger in Maharashtra whose one word could bring the entire state to a standstill - had blushed like a child before the media when he admitted that Micheal Jackson used his personal toilet when he visited his newly done up and renovated residence Matoshree at Kala Nagar in suburban Bandra. Thackeray had just about moved into his newly furnished residence – superbly done up by Unity Constructions Ltd and got Jackson to almost inaugurate his residence.

“I clearly remember the crowd from the airport to Thackeray’s residence. Jackson who landed at the Sahar airport had stopped over for cup of tea at Thackeray’s residence. I had managed to hitch hike on a media vehicle – there were very few TV News channels then – the roads were lined with lakhs of students and fans. The energy and sentiment was ecstatic as though a god was driving down.”

“I was covering that press conference and wanted to ask Thackeray if he had a western or Indian toilet, but looking at the tough looking sainiks around, I kept my mouth shut, he says, recalling the trouble that the Jackson Concert got his friends from Wizcraft – Andre Timmins, Sabbas Joseph and Viraf; and not to forget Raj Thackerey and his SUS (Shiv Udyog Sena – for those who came in late) – with all the allegations of entertainment tax evasion.

“I also remember reading some report that the tax chaps from the Suburban District Collector’s office had raided Andre and Viraf’s residence and tried to attach their personal belongings like the refrigerator and TV set. Then the jokes that followed when Sonali Bendre was asked to ‘welcome’ MJ at the airport with an ‘aarti’.

Showtime magazine had then asked me to interview Raj Thackeray post the concert and ask him about the ‘reported alleged linkup’ with Sonali Bendre. I was trembling as I went into the tiger cub’s den at Prabhadevi near Dadar. The Ramesh Kini episode was roving around in my mind and I was praying that my corpse wouldn’t be found somewhere in some desolate place, for asking Raj all the ‘tough’ questions.

Fortunately, the interview went off well – and I lived to tell the tale. Raj had said his wife Sharmila – who was sitting by his side during the interview - had recommended Sonali Bendre as she was her friend. In spite of his tough exterior, Raj Thackeray was a very congenial, jovial person who liked to joke. Raj was of course a great fan of Micheal Jackson, he had said in the interview. This interview with Raj was followed by many smaller interviews and continued for almost two years when I joined the Sunday Observer.

Post the Jackson tour, which was a resounding success – not surprisingly because the tax guys made life miserable for Wizcraft later on – there was an auction of Jackson’s personal effects that he used at The Oberoi. I remember seeing Shobha De jump up to the podium at the auction, pump Micheal Jackson’s hand and later on tell the media ‘it was a great orgasm’. I don’t exactly remember how much the pillow that Micheal slept on at The Oberoi went for – if I am not mistaken, it was sold for Rs One Lakh. I just hope that I haven’t mixed up any facts here, says Flynn Remedios, adding that everybody right from Prabhudeva in the south to Amitabh Bachchan in Mumbai had joined the “praise Micheal Jackson’ bandwagon, each claiming some reason for hero-worshiping the hero.

Watching the news of MJ’s death on TV, I couldn’t help but recall seeing a frail, weak and tired Balasaheb Thackeray return home from Lilavati Hospital just days before the news of Jackson’s death became known.

How the hands of time move? How life comes full circle? How time takes its toll on everyone? Veterans, stalwarts, enigmas like Micheal Jackson and Balasaheb Thackeray who made the world ‘stop’ at their whims and fancy have fallen to the silent killer ‘Time’. Long Live Micheal.. You will always live in our hearts.
