Mahek Chahal: I like Salman, he is a darling, but we are not dating each other

Industry buzz has it that the heart throb of millions of women all over the world Salman Khan has a new woman in his life. Apparently if the gossips are to believed Salman has been aggressively promoting Mahek after he met her at an international stage show tour and the two became friends. Rumours have been doing the rounds that Mahek and Salman have been having a rollicking time and some even suggested a roll in the hay. Some website mentioned that Salman and Mahek were closeted in a vanity van for about two hours and some unit members were quoted as saying that the two were seen getting really cozy with each other.
So we decided to check things out. When, we spoke to Mahek she denied it all. Speaking exclusively to this journalist Mahek said, “I have been getting calls left, right and centre. You are the first journalist I have spoken to since morning. This is all crap. I have known Salman for the last ten years and we are good friends. I wonder why this issue is being raked up now.”
Mahek insisted that Salman and Katrina are really happy together. “As far as I know, Salman has a girlfriend and they are really very happy with each other,” said Mahek. When we reminded her about an apparent and rift between the two love birds, she asserted that Salman and Katrina at still together. “Every relationship has its ups and downs but that doesn’t mean that they have split. I really like Salman, he is a darling and is very, very nice and sweet to me. He has always helped me so I wonder why the press is talking about it today. But we are not having an affair,” she quipped.
When we prodded further, a blushing Mahek said that Salman was a sweetheart. “He is a very nice man at heart. I wonder why the media targets him,” she said. It was apparent that Mahek has a soft corner for Salman and vice versa. Mahek made no attempt to hide the fact that the feeling was mutual. “Well he is such a nice guy, who wouldn’t have a soft corner for him. Even you will like him when you get to know him as a friend. He goes really out of his way to help his friends, he is down-to-earth,” she pleaded. Yes Mahek we know that Salman is really a nice guy and is one of the best friends one could ever have, but how come all the emotion and rush of blood.
Is Salman “using” Mahek to get even with long-time girl friend Katrina Kaif who seems to have got busy these days and seems to have very little time for Salman. “No, No. Salman will never use someone,” insists Mahek, stating that Salman and Katrina are very much together.
“I am not dating Salman. He is a dear, dear friend and one of the nicest guys I have ever known,” she says as a parting shot. Well time will tell Mahek and we hope you do well in all your future projects.
Mahek was first seen in ‘Nayee Padosan’ and did an item number in Chameli. After the tour Salman and she became “really good friends” and Mahek got an offer to play a role in the Salman-starrer Wanted Dead And Alive (remake of theTelugu hit Pokkiri ). She also got a meaty role in his home production titled Main Aur Mrs Khanna.
